Seargent Product Recommender turns product discovery into a conversation. Instead of hunting through filters and categories, shoppers just type what they need — “a lightweight waterproof jacket for hiking, under $120” — and get a short, ranked list of the best-matching products, each with a one-line reason why it fits, and a one-click Add to Cart button.
How it works
Searches a local index built from your published products (name, description, short description, price, category, stock status).
Sends a bounded, relevant subset of your catalog to Claude (Anthropic’s AI) along with the shopper’s request.
Gets back a ranked shortlist with a plain-language reason for each match.
Renders results as cards with instant Add to Cart — no page reload.
Key features
🔍 Natural-language product search — shoppers describe needs, not keywords
💬 Floating chat widget, dockable to any corner, with multi-turn conversations that persist across page navigation
🛒 One-click add to cart via WooCommerce’s native wc-ajax endpoint (cache/proxy safe)
🎨 Auto-inherits your theme’s font, or choose a Google Font / custom font-family
🎯 Configurable accent color with automatic readable text contrast
⚡ Response caching + Anthropic prompt-caching to cut repeat API costs
📊 Built-in usage tracking (search counts, optional query log)
🔒 Secure by design — API key encrypted at rest, or keep it out of the database entirely via wp-config.php
🧱 Scales to large catalogs — keyword pre-filter narrows candidates before any AI call, so cost stays bounded regardless of catalog size
💵 B2B/catalog-only friendly — price and Add to Cart display can each be toggled off

Privacy & safety
The AI can only recommend from an exact candidate list of your real products per query — it can never invent products or IDs. Your data goes only to Anthropic’s API, only when a shopper submits a search, and never includes account details, order history, or payment information.
